I am pretty sure that most of you have seen photos or read articles about love locks. They are padlocks that are affixed by couples to a fence, bridge or gate as a symbol of their love. The thing doesn’t necessarily have to be done with your partner. You can also do this with your family or friends as long as you are celebrating the undying love you have for each other. But did you know that we have our own version of love locks like those in the popular places like in Paris, Germany and Korea?

Recently, Josh and I celebrated our 16th month of being together. As part of our celebration, we decided to attach our lock at the fence of a grotto outside the National Shrine of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, popularly known as Baclaran Church in Parañaque City.

Few months back, I read an article about the love locks in Baclaran Church and immediately told Josh about this. According to the article, the Church officials too has no idea who started the trend but they are certain that it has become an attraction for devotees in Baclaran Church.
As cheesy as it may sound, people should still believe that “forever” exists. Kung si Xander at Agnes nga, may forever eh.  J
